Haven't blogged for a long time. Haha, dun really feel like being verbose recently. So this will be a brief post.
We had new believer caregroup yesterday evening. Boy, was it a good experience or what. I still have good vibes about it. was kinda raving about it to huichun and meiyan on the way home. haha
Anyway, I led praise and worship. First time I got to do that since rejoining the NUS ministry almost a year ago. That means the last time i led pnw was back in SMU. Woah... yeah, but it was a good experience. I think I prepared well (but of cos, improvement points aplenty). It's not so much about skills, like whether you are "good" at it, but rather, it is about whether one is simply able to come before God and just worship. Leading worship just means you wanna help others draw close to God as well. =)
We had a fun game (ppl wanted to play on when it ended! wow!) conducted by Ellson. Basically, each team has to send someone up, who will be shown a name. Then he/she will have to ... ah, it's basically charades, yeah, u noe... So anyway, highlights were the incredibly easy-to-guess Xiaopei - all I had to do was act like I'm playing ping-pong (she's a dead ringer for Li Jiawei)
There was no teaching. Instead, we were split into 3 groups, and each was supposed to present a skit regarding a good spiritual habit. Haha, I thought my group's presentation was rather dull compared to the other two. Highlights were the missionaries (Ruizhi and Xiaopei) evangelising to the primordial spear-wielding African native (Ellson), and Qiaoping's fruitful use of toilet time. All rounded up with a prepared skit presented by me, Ellson, June and QPing.
The reason why I felt so excited about the whole thing was because it reminded me so much of the days back in SMU, and of how being a pioneering ministry, we were encouraged to do things out-of-the-box. Today came close. When we did not feel any compulsion to stick to any "format". When we were all excited and childlike in preparing for it. When we simply had fun, doing "serious" stuff.
Okay. Still quite verbose. Oh well. Till next time then....

Hey bro, really enjoyed ur "verbose" entry... haha... the one abt Xiaopei and your ping-pong act is a real killer!!! hahahahahahahahahhah....
Mmm... =) seriously, i tink i understand what u mean... it's really a joy when we can do something for God, really freely from the heart. =) And I tink God really enjoys that kind of childlike service a LOT too! =D
